Work: Water management

This property had been restored, with much attention to the interior design.  There was to solve a water management problem, caused by an underground aquifer running very close to the foundations. The stream of water was causing problems to the stability of the house, and the external grounds so L&G was involved
The house is built on a significant gradient. The rear of the house is attached to the road, and the water was coming from under the road. It was decided to excavate the area and provide proper drainage. The area in front of the house also suffered from poor water management. A retaining wall was built to create a paved area, completed with drainage to remove the residual underground water. A steel reinforced concrete slab was designed to increase the “effetto scatolare” (box behavior), connecting into to the house and the retaining wall.
